Maruti to increase prices from August! How much more do you have to pay
Planning to buy a new Maruti Suzuki next month? You may need to budget a little more. India’s largest carmaker has announced yet another price revision of its model range, which will increase by up to Rs 30,000 from August 2026. The latest adjustment comes just weeks after the company raised prices in June, its second increase in three months. Maruti Suzuki said in a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that the decision was driven by continued inflationary pressures and unfavorable cost environment. The company said it has been absorbing some of the higher costs but now needs to pass on some of the increased costs to customers. “The company is forced to pass on some of the increased costs to the market, while continuing to ensure that the impact on customers is kept as low as possible,” the company said in the filing. The price increase will vary based on the model and variant. However, Maruti Suzuki is yet to release the model breakdown with revised prices. As a result, actual growth for individual vehicles within the company’s portfolio will vary. For potential buyers, the timing of the purchase can make a difference. Customers who completed their reservations before the revised prices took effect may still be eligible for the current prices, subject to the dealer’s terms and conditions and the vehicle’s delivery schedule. Automakers across the industry have been grappling with rising input costs and inflationary pressures in recent months, prompting several manufacturers to adjust vehicle prices.
