Ben Affleck has a net worth of $587 million
The giant disclosed the purchase price in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday, confirming previous reports by Bloomberg that the player acquired about $600 million. According to the company’s Filing Form 10-Q, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, “in March 2026, the Company completed the acquisition of a business combination for a purchase price of approximately USD 587, including cash.“
Ben Affleck in the role of AI
Affleck founded InterPositive in 2022 and served as its CEO. As part of the acquisition, the OTT giant also took over the company’s board, with the Oscar-winning actor continuing with the director as a consultant.Affleck has previously spoken about the role of AI in filmmaking, stressing that it will only enhance the creative process rather than replace it. “AI will disrupt the heavy, inefficient, and expensive aspects of filmmaking. This will allow the cost to come down. This will lower the barrier to entry. This will allow more voices to be heard. This will allow people who want to make Good Will Hunting to come out and make it,” Affleck said in a video discussing the technology. He explained, “AI is a great craftsman – craftspeople can learn to make Stickley furniture by sitting down next to someone and seeing what their technique is like and imitating it…. I know how to work. Art is knowing when to stop. And I think knowing when to stop is going to be the hardest thing for AI to learn, because it’s (about) taste.”
Netflix is already using AI in production
As reported by THR, Co-CEO Ted Sarandos was asked how the company plans to take advantage of InterPositive and whether the acquisition could mean long-term cost savings. He shared, “It’s early days for InterPositive but we’re seeing gen-AI starting to take an interest in the content we’ve created.”He added, “We are producing high quality products faster and more efficiently than we would have been using traditional methods. Gen AI workflows have now been used in nearly 300 of our roles, with the largest investment to date in post-production.According to Sarandos, large scale events and battle sequences are some of the areas where artificial AI is proving to be very useful.
