Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ is all set to make its debut at the Indian box office this Friday. The much-anticipated film, which is expected to hit theaters on July 17, is said to have seen an exceptional opening at the box office with box office reports suggesting that the film is on track to earn an opening day of Rs 20 crore, with trade estimates suggesting that the 25 collections could go further.

‘The Odyssey’ crossed Rs 10 crore in advance bookings

Hours before the film’s release, the film is said to have already sold tickets worth around Rs 10 cross, including reserved seats, on its opening day, as reported by Sacnilk. Advance booking figures have made the film one of the biggest Hollywood openings in India.The film has been witnessing strong demand in IMAX, 4DX and other high definition screens (PLF), where ticket prices, even for morning shows, range between Rs 700 and Rs 2,800. Some theaters have shown sold-out shows while others are filling up fast.

Premium forms of driving

Nolan, who is already a huge hit in the country, will release the film in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. This big release is expected to earn big money at the box office this week. If the film continues to do well, it may only earn Rs 25 crores gross in India.

‘The Odyssey’ opened to a strong 99% on Rotten Tomatoes from an average of 79 critic reviews. The film can only benefit from the soundtrack, as well as booking a place to be seen as one of the richest films in 2026.

‘The Odyssey’ will gross over $200 million worldwide

Meanwhile, according to a report by Deadline, ‘The Odyssey’ is expected to earn between USD 90 million and $100 million in its opening weekend in North America, while the worldwide collection is expected to exceed USD 200 million.With a production budget of around USD 250, the film, which is believed to be the most expensive film to date, may just surpass its production budget in its opening weekend.

‘The Odyssey’ dropped with a release date

Based on ancient Greek history, ‘The Odyssey’ stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and has an ensemble cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal and Benny Safdie. The film will be released in theaters worldwide on July 17.
