An unprecedented crime
Anne Hathaway followed her work with Nolan, starting with ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ when she was about 20 years old, followed by ‘Interstellar’, a film in which she showed her love for him. However, Nolan didn’t make him several roles that he directed following ‘Interstellar’. This difference led Hathaway to think funny about what would make the director look the other way.“And so I was like, ‘I hope I didn’t say anything when we were in the air.’ But we would see each other; everything will be fine. Then, yeah, I got a phone call,” he said with a laugh, joking that he was worried about inadvertently upsetting Nolan during his time working on the film.Despite the apparent distance between the projects, Hathaway stressed that their professional relationship has always remained warm and cooperative. “But we see each other, everything will be fine,” he said, pointing out that any apparent differences were technical rather than personal.

Anne Hathaway’s praise for Christopher Nolan’s direction
Discussing her experience on ‘The Odyssey,’ Hathaway offered a unique insight into Nolan’s unique directing style. He praised the director’s talent and the “amazing” experience he had working with him. “And I think… what I saw on “The Odyssey” is that he made the film with his mind and directed it while we were there with his heart,” he revealed, showing a different kind of his filmmaking process. What he saw revealed the duality of Nolan’s style: the strategic planning that guides the production and the emotional certainty he brings to directing the actors on set. This understanding showed why Hathaway values her association with the filmmaker and shows why Nolan chose to reunite with him for the latest project after the time gap between ‘Interstellar’ and ‘The Odyssey’.‘The Odyssey’ hits theaters on July 17.
