Singer, songwriter Palaash Muchhal has been in legal trouble after marrying a Smriti Mandhana he was suspended. An FIR was filed by actor-producer Vidnyan Mane who alleged that Palash had cheated him of Rs 40 lakhs. According to the latest developments in legal disputes, the courts in Sangli rejected his anticipatory plea in a case registered against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. His lawyers have confirmed that the decision will be challenged in the Supreme Court.According to court documents obtained, the Sangli court has rejected the decision to wait for Muchhal to post bail on Friday, July 10. Confirming this, Muchhal’s lawyer, advocate Abhijit Desai, told HT City, “Yes, the story is true and we want to challenge the plan.”Earlier this year, Mane had told the same website that Muchhal had cheated him of more than Rs 40 lakh in connection with an unreleased film. She also claimed that the singer cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana.Responding to the allegations at the time, Muchhal announced that he had initiated charges against Mane. In a social media post, he wrote, “A defamation notice of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Vidnyan Mane of Sangli for the false, obscene and highly defamatory statements he made with the intention of maligning my reputation and character.”Mane, who lives in Sangli and is Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend, was closely related to the couple. Muchhal and Mandhana were engaged and were expected to get married in Sangli in November 2025, but the wedding fell through. The couple later confirmed their separation through social media.According to Mane’s complaint, the latest incident took place on November 22 at the Sangli-Ashta toll plaza. He also said that during the argument, Muchhal used insulting words against him.Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR under Section 3 (1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with Sections 351 (2) and 352.According to the report, the dispute is related to the alleged financial scandal. Police said Muchhal took Rs 25 lakh from Mane to participate in a film production. When Mane repeatedly tried to return the money, it is said that it led to an argument between the two, which led to the case.
