'Satluj': Screening of Diljit Dosanjh's film held in Jammu following OTT cancellation; More shows to follow

Diljit DosanjhThe movie ‘Satluj’ was removed from the OTT platform soon after its digital release. After the cancellation, the film has been shown in many places across the country. According to recent reports, the latest ‘Satluj’ show was held in Jammu for the local people. A few days ago, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee also announced that they would hold screenings and seminars to support the film.

‘Satluj’ shows in Jammu amid ongoing conflict

According to ANI, the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu, held a vigil on Friday, July 10, which was attended by people from various districts.Treasurer Sardar Jagpal Singh also commented on the review, saying that more such demonstrations will be organized in Gurdwaras in the coming days. “Look at the meeting here; people from all religions – Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, and others – are there. The video started at 8:00 PM, and it is now around 10:20 PM. It is perplexing why the government or the people involved want to hide the truth. This video is being shown at this Gurdwara, and the showing will continue at other different Gurdwaraths.The move comes after the film was pulled in India from an OTT platform within 48 hours of its release. The DGPC contacted the DSGMC, Akali DalSGPC, and Waris Punjab De, along with many other organizations, for screening the film across the country.

The Center said the ‘Satluj’ was released without proper clearance

After public debate about the removal of the film from OTT, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement on the matter. ANI reported that the film was released without any license.“Satluj did not have the required approval for theatrical release. Instead of following the certification process, the makers changed the title of the film and released it on the OTT platform on Friday,” he said.
