Volkswagen Tayron Life launched, priced at 4.199 million: five seats, specifications, etc.

Volkswagen India today finally launched the new entry-level Volkswagen Tayron Life SUV in the Indian market, priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Tayron Life is priced around Rs 5 lakh less than the range-topping R-Line model, making it a more affordable alternative. The Volkswagen Tayron Life will be manufactured locally at the carmaker’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant in Maharashtra. This SUV competes with the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. Interested customers can reserve the SUV online or visit their nearest Volkswagen dealer; deliveries are expected to begin soon.

Compared to the R-Line, the Tayron Life has a softer appearance. Since it doesn’t come with the sports styling package, parts like the front grille, wheel arch cladding and rear bumper garnish are finished differently, without the gloss black treatment found on the top-spec version. The bumper design of the front fascia has also been revised. It features an L-shaped grille insert and silver accents below the grille, giving the SUV a cleaner look. Despite these changes, key lighting elements remain the same. The Life trim continues with slim Matrix LED headlights, a centrally illuminated Volkswagen logo and a full-width LED light bar that connects the headlights.In terms of size, the Talon has a length of 4,792 mm and a wheelbase of 2,789 mm. The side profile is essentially the same as the R-Line, although the alloy wheel design is different. The Life version comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, which are an inch smaller than those on the flagship model. This SUV continues to maintain a simple side profile, with a clear shoulder line extending from the rear door to the tailgate. Silver trim outlines the window area and then extends to the rear quarter glass, while a chrome strip further adds to the side profile.Changes at the rear are limited. The bumper adopts a simpler design, but the rest of the shape remains the same. The Life trim continues to feature LED taillights with subtle lighting elements, a full-width LED light bar, an illuminated Volkswagen badge and a roof-mounted spoiler.Entering the car, the Tayron Life retains almost the same cabin layout as the R-Line. The most notable differences are the lack of R-Line badging and the elimination of the third row of seats, making it a five-seater. Despite its lower position in the range, the level of functionality remains largely unchanged. The SUV continues to offer a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, power front seats with ventilation and massage functions, dual wireless smartphone charging pads, 360-degree cameras, nine airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The Tayron Life comes with an 8-speaker sound system, while the R-Line comes with an 11-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system.Talking about the powertrain, it comes with the same EA888 2.0, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 hp and 320 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, sending power to all four wheels.
