India Women vs England Women Live Score, One-off Test: Historic Lords Test begins, Harmanpreet’s side-eye resumes
An early exit from the T20 World Cup has given India extra time to prepare for the red-ball match at the iconic venue, 142 years after the first men’s Test match was played in the ‘Home of Cricket’.
The Indian team trains at the picturesque Walmsley Cricket Ground ahead of the second Test of the year, having last played a red-ball match in Australia in March.
India may retain opening pair
Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Varma are expected to continue as India’s starting pair after their duties in the last Test match against Australia.
Priya Punia has been added to the squad as a replacement for the injured Pratika Rawal, who was at number three in India’s 10-run loss to Australia.
India will also get a chance to hand a Test debut to Harleen Deol, in-form spinner Sree Charani and pacer Nandni Sharma.
Strong record against England
Although women’s Test matches are rare, India found success against England in the longest format of the game.
India have won three of their last four Test matches against England and remain unbeaten in England with two wins and seven draws.
