Tata Punch HBX revealed: What’s new in the rugged Punch

Tata Motors Punch HBX has been teased again, suggesting a rugged version of its popular micro-SUV may be coming soon. Months after it was first revealed earlier this year, the adventure-focused model has once again appeared on the company’s official website and social media platforms. However, the brand has yet to announce a launch date or open pre-orders.

First shown in early 2026, the Punch HBX is a more rugged version of the facelifted Punch. This version focuses on visual enhancements rather than mechanical upgrades.The exterior has undergone some changes to give it a rugged appearance. It features all-terrain tires wrapped in black 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, thick front and rear bumpers with Armor Guard skid plates, and pronounced wheel arches. Tata has also added armor protection side cladding, black roof and ORVMs, silver inserts on the front bumper, air shield rear spoiler and roof racks. The interior is expected to remain unchanged compared to the standard Punch. The feature list is likely to remain without any major additions.In terms of engine, this car will use Tata’s 1.2-liter iTurbo petrol engine, which can produce 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.The standard Tata Punch facelift has been launched in India with prices ranging from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 10.60 lakh ex-showroom. However, the Punch HBX has so far only been shown as an accessory concept. More details on its production plans, pricing and launch timeline are expected to be announced at a later stage.
