‘Toy Story 5’ dominates the box office; ‘Supergirl’ makes a disappointing $68 million |

‘Toy Story 5’ tops the North American box office

In the film, she plays Supergirl, or Lara Zor-El, Superman’s younger cousin who is more of a party girl than a world savior.The poor opening weekend for ‘Supergirl’ puts it behind DC blockbusters such as ‘The Flash’ (USD 55 million in 2023) and ‘The Green Lantern’ (USD 53 million in 2011), and ahead of ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ (USD 37.7 million in 2020).
Classic movies don’t do well at the box office either

The film also unseated ‘The Exorcist’ as the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time at the North American box office.
‘Jackass: The Good and the Last ‘has $10.3 million worldwide
Paramount Pictures’ ‘Jackass: Best and Last’ was another new release of the week. The latest film from Johnny Knoxville and company opened with a modest $8.4 from 2,855 North American theaters but failed overseas with USD 1.9 million from 19 markets for a worldwide total of $10.3 million. 23 million before spending USD 80 million worldwide.
‘The Invite’ didn’t get off to a good start
Olivia Wilde’s dinner party drama ‘The Invite’ has never been one of the best shows of the year. Opening on seven screens in New York and Los Angeles, it debuted with USD 379,104, good for a total of USD 54,158.Wilde’s third film as a director features himself, Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton as a San Francisco couple who meet on a random night. A24 discovered the film after it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
