Bank Talent Selection Research Institute (IBPS) will close tomorrow (July 26, 2026) the registration window for Trainee Officer (PO) and Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment 2026. Qualified candidates who have not applied yet can visit the IBPS official website to complete the application process.The recruitment drive aims to fill 6,715 probationary officer vacancies and 745 specialist officer vacancies in participating banks.

For the post of Trainee Officer (PO), the candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Applicants should hold a valid transcript or degree certificate when registering online, and indicate their graduation grades when filling out the application form.For Specialist Officer (SO) posts, academic qualifications depend on the post applied for. Candidates should refer to the detailed notification to know the later eligibility requirements.
IBPS PO, SO Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The selection process for probationary officer (PO) recruitment includes preliminary examination, main examination and personality test.There are 100 questions in the preliminary test, with a maximum score of 100 points, and the test time is 60 minutes. The main exam consists of 170 questions worth a total of 200 marks and lasts for 160 minutes.There will be negative scoring on objective tests. One-quarter (0.25) of the question’s points will be deducted for each incorrect answer, while no points will be deducted for unanswered questions.For Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment, candidates have to appear for online preliminary examination, online main examination and interview. Those who pass the preliminary examination will be included in the re-examination list. The final selection will be based on the results of the main examination and interview.

Candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Classes (EWS) categories have to pay an application fee of Rs 850.Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories have to pay Rs 175.The application fee can be paid via debit card, credit card, online banking or UPI.Candidates are advised to complete and submit their applications before the registration window closes on July 26, 2026, to avoid last-minute technical issues.
