In a recent interview on the podcast ‘Wildmen,’ hosted by Cole’s brother, Dylan SprouseKJ Apa recalled and admitted that he used drugs excessively. “Cole and I used to travel to Vancouver all the time and get invited… I remember we almost got into a fight,” said the actor who played Archie in the series. Dylan was also present at the time to witness the altercation. “He punched me in the face. He punched me because we were in a strip camp and, at the time, I was using drugs and many of my best friends were worried about me,” said KJ Apa in the interview, adding that Cole knew about his return. When he said the ‘Five Feet Apart’ actor gave him a ‘punch of love,’ Dylan joked that it was a ‘wake up punch.’ “Yeah. No, it was a wake-up call,” KJ admitted.
