In an interview with SCREEN, Adil admits that he considers himself very lucky that he has never had to face a difficult situation in his career. So, they paid me very well. Another show, which was also released on July 24, is Musafir Cafe. They also paid me very well,” he adds.The actor, who also appeared in Mitul Patel’s Mercy earlier this year, will next be seen in Ali El Arabi’s English drama 52 Blue. “If I say ‘I’m paid very well’, maybe I’m paid a little compared to other people. But maybe I’ve created my life in a way that I can handle it. I’m very happy with that,” says Adil.

A few years ago, on the AP Podcast, Adil admitted that Kabir Singh was the only film he had ever signed without reading it beforehand. He called the film “misogynistic” and accused it of promoting violence, adding that he left the film after only 20 minutes and would be embarrassed if his wife watched it. He added that he would “never sign” a project like Vanga’s Animal, even for “Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore”.

The next day, Vanga shot X, accusing Adil of having “greed… greater than his passion” and threatening to swap his face using Artificial Intelligence. He also said that he regrets knowing Adil, saying that Kabir Singh has done more for the actor than the “30 indie films” that Adil has worked in throughout his career.

However, Adil did not allow Vanga’s words to go unanswered. In an interview with India Today, he questioned whether world-renowned filmmakers like ‘Mira Nair’, who worked with him on the 2012 political thriller ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, and Academy Award winner ‘Ang Lee’, who directed him in the 2016 adventure film ‘Life of Pi’, are less than a ‘well-known’ director.
