I think some absences are normal. Sometimes giving people their space is a sign of love and respect. You don’t want to disappoint someone on such an important occasion. But they continue to share a good relationship. Aamir’s statement comes after a fatwa was issued against their marriage on religious grounds, prompting him to correct it.
